Kenneth "Kenny" Alan Fitzgerald, 64, Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017. He was born July 28, 1953, in Lexington, Virginia, to Johnnie M. and Dorothy A. (Figgatt) Fitzgerald, living most of his early years in Kokomo, and most recently had resided in Indianapolis.
Kenny was a 1971 graduate of Taylor High School. He was an avid motorcyclist and had recently begun to enjoy boating as well. Kenny spent his early years in Kokomo working at Jack Forrester Harley-Davidson and then spent many years in the heating and air conditioning business, including owning Fitzgerald's Heating and Cooling. He most recently worked as a maintenance manager for an apartment complex in Indianapolis.
Kenny was a proud father to Paige Ridgeway, Indianapolis, Brittany Zimmermann, West Chester, Ohio, and Bradley Fitzgerald, West Lafayette. He was also a proud grandfather to Beckett and Brinley Zimmermann, both of West Chester, Ohio. Kenny is also survived by his ex-wife, Beth; father, Johnnie Fitzgerald; sister, Barbara (Kenny) Foster, Kokomo; brothers, Marvin Fitzgerald, Phoenix, Arizona, and Raymond (Carol) Fitzgerald, Kokomo; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Pastor Paul Sutherland officiating. Private burial will be held in Albright Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
