Keith A. McAninch
July 27, 1945 - November 19, 2017
Keith was a 1963 graduate of Kokomo High School. He worked for Harvey & Son Home Builders and Stan Moore Construction as a master carpenter. Keith had also worked for Delco Electronics for 11 years.
Keith was a vital member of the Burlington Church of Christ, serving as a deacon, trustee and executive director of the food pantry ministry. Keith's love and devotion to God was always on display by the way he loved helping anyone who needed help. Throughout his years of serving in the food pantry ministry, Keith was nicknamed "the Hugger" because of his genuine love for all people resulting in the giving of hugs as he greeted every food pantry guest. Keith was very creative and loved making things out of wood. The furniture he made and the finish carpentry he provided over the years continue to beautify the homes of his family, friends and customers. Keith had a wonderful sense of humor and made everyone feel comfortable in his presence and deeply valued.
Keith cherished his family and all the time he spent with them. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Mary Jo McAninch, Bringhurst; children, Kirk M. (Kimberly) McAninch, Connecticut, Angela L. (Brian) Plutat, Kokomo, and Kyle M. McAninch, Bloomington; grandchildren, Ashley N. McAninch and Andrea L. (Garrett) Cox, both of Colorado, Erica R. Plutat, and Audrey B. Plutat, both of Kokomo, and Ethan A. McAninch and Brooke E. McAninch, both of Bloomington; one sister-in-law, Melody Kilty, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Patty Messenger and Virginia "Ginger" Rosselot.
Keith's family wants to thank the doctors and nurses of Franciscan Health East - 3 North who provided the best possible medical care in the most caring manner. Your care for our Keith will never be forgotten. Thank you.
