Julia Ann McHale, 89, Kokomo, passed away Monday, Nov. 5, 2018, at Waterford Place Health Campus, Kokomo. She was born in Kokomo on June 9, 1929, to Ned and Harriett Waggaman. She married the love of her life, Sgt. Charles E. McHale, on Dec. 23, 1950.
She was a devoted military wife throughout his career in the Air Force. She loved traveling with Charles as he was stationed in many places across the globe. She spent many years in Germany and Newfoundland. Prior to marrying Charles, Julia was a secretary for several years at Continental Steel Corp. in Kokomo. Aunt Julia was a proper classy lady. She never had children of her own but loved spending time with all of her nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She is survived by her sister, Sue Miller, Kokomo, and several nieces and nephews, Pandora Miller, Charles Miller Jr., Kerry Miller, Terry Miller, Shana (Miller) Driver, Steven Shumaker, and her dear lifelong friend, Kathryn De Lawter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, in 1994; her parents; her sister, Nedra Waggaman; her brother-in-law, Charles W. Miller; and niece, Doris (Miller) Kopeschka.
The family would like to thank Waterford Place for the love and care of Julia for so many years.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018, at Springdale Cemetery in Bunker Hill, with Pastor Rick Puckett officiating. Memorial donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association.
