Judith A. Buttermore, 73, Kokomo passed away surrounded by the love of her family at 9:16 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017, at St. Vincent Kokomo. She was born May 27, 1944, in Kokomo to Marion and G. Helen (Huffer) Saul. On Jan. 14, 1972, Judith married Ronald E. Buttermore, and he survives.
Judith was a 1962 graduate of Western High School. During her many years in healthcare, she worked for Dr. Baylor and Dr. Downing's office, worked as a cook and unit secretary at the Rehabilitation Hospital, was a unit secretary at Seton Hospital in Kokomo, a nursing assistant in the ICU at St. Joseph Hospital, and also worked in the 1970s as a unit secretary in the ER for Howard Community Hospital. Judith attended St. Andrew Episcopal Church in Kokomo and also First Church of the Nazarene in Kokomo. Judith loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed her ladies card club, sewing and collecting recipes.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald Buttermore, Kokomo; two daughters, Michelle (Brent) Fivecoate, Frankfort, Betsy (Jeffery) Wisehart, Noblesville; two sons, Randall Davenport, South Bend, and Blaine (Diana) Buttermore, Russiaville; sister, Karen Wren; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Judith was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and G. Helen Saul; and stepfather, George Salmons.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, with Pastor Stan Zurcher officiating. Burial will follow in Russiaville Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
