Joseph Richard Perry, Jr., 69, Kokomo, passed away at 1:05 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017, at his home. He was born Dec. 23, 1947, in Anderson, to Junior Titus and Frances Ellen (Wogerman) Wilson.
Joseph graduated from Hamilton Heights High School in 1966 and attended Purdue University. He worked at Chrysler for 30 years as a repairman before retiring in 2004. He was an avid member of the ASPCA and a supporter of the Humane Society. He loved his flowers and was a lover of music, collecting vinyl records and antique radios. He was a member of UAW Local 685.
He is survived by his father, Junior T. Wilson, Windfall; children, Julie Perry, Kokomo, Heather (fiance Ray Taylor) Bogard, Warsaw, Joseph R. (Amy) Perry, III, Alexandria, Joseph (Jacqueline) Magers, Lafayette, and Denise (Robin) Moody, Kokomo; sister, Toni (Ron) Dunham, Kokomo; nephew, Phillip (Jasper Kroll) Lunsford, Chattanooga, Tennessee; niece, Tia (Chris) Braun, Tipton; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother; grandson, Benjamin Perry; sister, Pamela Sue Byers; nephews, Todd Richard Lunsford and Timothy Gene Byers; great-nephew, Luke Braun; mother of his children, Bennie Magers; and best friend, Kevin "Terry" Sleeth.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo. There will be a private family service with cremation to follow.
