Joey Lynn Peed, 60, Kokomo, passed away at 6:44 a.m. Friday Oct. 27, 2017, at St. Vincent Kokomo. Born July 23, 1957, in Kokomo, he is the son of Joe Lawrence Peed and the late Annette (Paul) Peed. On Oct. 12, 2007, he married Debra Kay Clifton, and she survives.
Joey proudly served his country as a United States Marine for over four years, and he earned a Medal of Good Conduct. He was a machinist for 35 years, most recently with Coan Engineering for the last five years. He enjoyed fishing, reading, riding his Harley Davidson, and collecting old vinyl records.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Kay Peed, Kokomo; his father, Joe Lawrence Peed, North Carolina; two sons, Michael Surack, Kokomo, Jordan (Stephanie) Lee, Noblesville; one daughter, Kylie (Nick Spencer, fiancé) Lee, Kokomo; three brothers, Scotty Lawrence, North Carolina, Chris Swartz, Lafayette, and Ronald Schwartz; two sisters, April Brough, Greentown, and Laura Hardee, North Carolina. There are also many grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, 2017 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St., Kokomo, with full military rites will be performed by the United States Marines and the VFW 1152 Military Rites Team. Pastor Jerry Ausbrook will be officiating.
