JoAnna Kay Robinson Koon, 79, Peru, went peacefully to be with her Lord Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, at her home, surrounded by her immediate family. She was born Dec. 30, 1938, in Connersville, Indiana, to Maurice R. Robinson and Freda M. (Barnard) Robinson.
JoAnna graduated from Milton High School and retired from Delco Electronics. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was an avid bingo player and was known to those who knew her best as the "Euchre Queen." She was a beloved mother to all of her children, a wonderful grandmother to 19 and to several great-grandchildren, who will all miss her dearly.
In the later months of her life, she felt blessed to have son Travis, Amy Mayhew and granddaughter Sara Langley as her primary caretakers during her journey into eternal bliss. All of her family and friends rest easy with the assurance that, at last, she is now dancing in heaven to Old Time Rock and Roll.
JoAnna is survived by six of her children, all of whom she made the center of her life during her 59 years as a mother. Surviving children are Billie Joe Koon, Brian Anthony Koon, Terri "Sis" Miller (Tony Sutton), Tracy Lee Koon, Ted Daniel Koon and his companion Teresa Sexton and Travis Douglas Koon (Amy), all of Kokomo.
She was preceded in death by her children's father, Bill Koon; second-born son, Todd Allen Koon; sisters, Charolotte Neal and Marlene Comb; and brother, Jerry Robinson.
A celebration of life for JoAnna will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street, with dear friend and son-in-law, Chris Snow, presenting the eulogy. The family will offer visiting hours from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. We will be going in procession to Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
You may go to the website, www.ellersmortuarywebster.com, to sign the guestbook, or leave a condolence for the family.
