Joann Wise, 93, Greentown, went home to be with the Lord at 2:35 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018, in Community Howard Regional Health, Kokomo. She was born to Ray and Edna (Williams) Wardwell on Nov. 25, 1924, in Elwood, Indiana. On Aug. 20, 1944, she married Cedric T. Wise in Elwood, Indiana, and he preceded her in death April 23, 1985.
Joann had worked at the Greentown Grainery for many years as a secretary. She was a member of Greentown First United Methodist Church in Greentown. She enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles, making greeting cards and loved to read. She loved watching the Indianapolis Colts play. Joann also was president of the Residents of Century Villa Healthcare.
She is survived by children, Marcile Wise and fiance James, James (JeanAnn) Wise and Jerry Wise; grandchildren, Jason (Lisa) Wise, Jacob (Jennifer)Wise and Andrew Wise; great-grandchildren, Austin Wise, Ethan Schuldt, Cedric Wise, Avalea Wise, and Aayla Wise; and several nieces and nephews and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Della Kathryn Ozenbaugh, Lenamae Davenport; and brother, James Wardwell.
Visitation for family and friends will be noon until 3 p.m. Tuesday, with funeral services at 3 p.m. at Greentown First United Methodist Church, 213 S. Meridian St., with Pastor Russell Patton officiating. Burial will follow the service in Greenlawn Cemetery, Greentown.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to First United Methodist Church Youth Fund.
