Jo Ann's Story
Jo Ann Rinehart, 91, Kokomo, was surrounded by family when she passed away at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, at Waterford Health Care Campus. She was born Jan. 7, 1926, in Phoenix, Arizona, to L. Ross and Pauline E. (Weger) Ingels. On Feb. 18, 1994, she married Paul Edward Rinehart, who passed away Oct. 3, 2017.
Jo Ann was a 1943 Kokomo High School graduate. She retired as a secretary from Ervin Elementary School. She was a member of Judson Baptist Church. Jo Ann loved painting, reading, playing bridge and was an excellent seamstress.
Jo Ann is survived by her son, Mark E. (Wendy) Rinehart, Hamilton, Ohio; daughters, Pamela Jo (Dennis) Massengill, Punta Gorda, Florida, Gail (Kurt) Daggett, Galveston, Gwen (Cecil) Harp, Marietta, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Marnie Cornell, Andy Mulis, Annie Bean, Kyle Rinehart, Erin Elhard, Rachael Webb, JC Webb, Kelly Brown; 15 great-grandchildren; sister in-law, Virginia "Jenni" Prifogle, Kokomo.
Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, L. Ross and Pauline E. Ingels; stepmother, Valera Ingels; grandson, Ryan Massengill.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, with Pastor Ryan Sibray officiating. Burial will follow at South Union Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
