Jerome E. "Jerry" Marschke, 73, Kokomo, died at 1:20 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Golden Living Center, Kokomo. He was born May 10, 1944, in Tipton to August and Katherine (Walpe) Marschke.
He retired from Milbank Manufacturing, Kokomo, where he worked for 19 years. Jerry was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing golf and was an 8 & 9 ball pool player. Jerry served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by three children, Mark Marschke, Frankfort, Tereasa McKinnie and husband Herman, Kokomo, Joe Marschke and wife Angel, Tipton; two sisters, Frieda Plake and husband Phil, Tipton, Bertha A. McGraw, Centerville, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, Christopher McKinnie, Elizabeth Pitts, Austin Cook, Tebraya Holmes, Tara McNew, Marc Hurston, Marlania Marschke, Tyler Hurston, Adam Marschke, Caidan Marschke, and Carter Marschke; six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Jerry will be 6 p.m. Monday, March 12, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with the Rev. Dennis Goth presiding. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, at the National Cemetery, Marion, with military honors. Visitation will be 3 to 6 p.m. Monday at the church. Young-Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
