Jean E. Rutherford, 87, Kings Mountain, North Carolina, was our beloved mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother who went to her eternal home Sept. 23, 2018. She was surrounded by her family and friends in the home of her daughter and son-in-law. She was born in Lincoln, Indiana, on July 3, 1931, to Willard and Ethel Darland. She was married to Carl Rutherford, who preceded her in death.
Surviving family members include William and wife Regina (Reggie) Fraker, Flora, Indiana, and Margaret and husband Robert Allen, Kings Mountain, North Carolina. Grandchildren include Melissa and husband Edson Avila, Riverside, California, Troy and wife Julie Allen, Shelby, North Carolina, Tony Allen, deceased, Billie and husband Mike Eads, Flora, Indiana, Randi Fraker, Flora, Indiana, and her beloved Cali Rene. Great-grandchildren include Miles Ricasa, Riverside, California, Boston Allen, Shelby, North Carolina, Savanna and husband Owen Jenkins, Shelby, North Carolina, Mackenzie Fraker, Flora, Indiana, and Devon Eads, Flora, Indiana. Her family also includes numerous stepchildren and great-stepchildren who she loved as her own. Surviving is brother, James and wife Marilyn Darland, Kokomo, Indiana.
Brothers Billy Darland, Don Darland and Bob Darland and sisters Marie Wikel and Leona (Punkie) Luper preceded her in death.
Graveside services will be held at a later date at Galveston Cemetery, with a celebration of her life planned following the service with family and friends in Kokomo, Indiana.
Her last sentence to her family was, "I want to go be with Jesus." Welcome home, Jean E. Rutherford.

I am gonna miss Jean alot, it was great knowing her the past 16yrs or so. She was a beautiful lady.
