Jared Charles Rawls, his daddy always called him "Fuzzy," passed away at 5:39 p.m. Wednesday Oct. 4, 2017, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was born March 11, 1986, in Indianapolis, the son of Charles and Kenna (Fagel) Rawls.
Jared's first word, though he could barely speak, was "Abba," meaning Father. There was a never any doubt he was a child of God. He loved people, always smiling and waving, if he knew you he would say "What's Up?!" Jared loved sitting out in the garage or in the pole barn in his wheelchair, except when he heard the weed eater, he did not like that.
Jared also loved riding around in cars, trucks, go carts, golf carts or even on the school bus. But watch out when he had to get off! He was always asking to go to church. Jared loved watching TV, especially the Weather Channel and the news. His favorite foods were pizza with salt, yogurt, M & M's, sausage biscuits and Mountain Dew. He also built many "masterpieces" with his giant LEGOs and enjoyed playing his keyboard! Jared also loved cats.
Jared donated his corneas; now someone is looking at life through Jared's eyes.
His nephews said, he is now in Heaven walking, and with straight legs. We'll miss you baby boy, see you when it's our time...
Jared is survived by his mother, Kenna Rawls; sisters, Janel Halton and Jynni (Mike) Turner; nephews, Seth (Tank) Halton and Barret Halton; and niece, Lana Turner, who he called "Buddy," all of Fort Wayne.
Jared was preceded in death by his father, Charles Rawls; and both of his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Private burial will be held Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017, in Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory are assisting with arrangements. Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
