Janet J. Barrall, 62, Kokomo, passed away at 2:55 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017, at Community Howard Regional Health. She was born July 19, 1955, in Flora, Illinois, to William Louis and Eula (Jennings) Sparlin.
Janet was a 1973 Haworth High School graduate and worked in food service for many years. She loved crafts of all kinds, going to concerts and attending First Baptist Church. As a dog lover, Janet had a special fondness for Dobermans. Having a heart for service, Janet saw a need in the community and started a "Socks For Tots" ministry with her sister.
She is survived by her mother, Eula Rash; daughter, Danya (Anand) Rood; two grandchildren; brother, Alan (Jane) Sparlin; sister, Rita Grawey; nephew, Tom Grawey; niece, Emily (Max) Boyle; as well as many cousins and extended family who loved Janet dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Barrall; and father, William Sparlin.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, at First Baptist Church, 310 W. Taylor St., with Pastor Mark Brackett officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
