Jane's Story

Jane Ann Rickey, 72, Kokomo, passed away at 4:14 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo. She was born Jan. 3, 1945 in Kokomo to William G. and Theresa I. (Vigue) Rickey.
Jane attended St. Joan of Arc Catholic grade school in Kokomo and Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic grade school in Skowhegan, Maine. She was a graduate of Eastern High School in Greentown and the Indiana Business College. She retired from Kokomo Gas and Fuel with over 40 years service. Jane was an avid horse lover. She and her mother bred and raised horses all of her life. She was a long time member of the American Quarter Horse Assoc. and the American Paint Horse Assoc., and had been a horse and pony 4H leader for the Howard Coounty Fair. She loved being outdoors and working in her vegetable garden.
Surviving family include her daughter, Wendy J. Foster, Kokomo; stepsons, William J. and wife Dawn (Laughner) Foster, Sharpsville and Randy Eugene Foster, Torrington, Connecticut; brother, John E. Rickey Sr., Kokomo; nephew, John E. Rickey Jr.; and many cousins, nieces and nephews in Maine.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, William G. Rickey.
A celebration of life services will be held at a later date.
