Jan E. Buelo, 63, Kokomo, passed away at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo. He was born Aug. 22, 1954, in Waukesha, Wisconsin. He was the son of Ralph H. and Elayne (Holz) Buelo. On June 15, 1974, in Tess Corners, Wisconsin, he married Amy E. Schufletowski, and she survives.
Jan grew up in Wind Lake, Wisconsin, and was a 1972 graduate of Muskego High School in Muskego, Wisconsin. He attended Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC). He was an auto worker for AMC/Chrysler /Jeep from 1975 to 1990. He then owned and operated Oojour Trucking Corporation from 1990 to 2008, and was employed with Park 100 Foods as a driver from 2008 until his retirement in 2011.
Jan was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church, serving as a leader in many positions in the church. He loved fishing, gardening, traveling and music. He was an avid sports fan of the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, the Wisconsin Badgers and NASCAR.
Along with his wife, Amy, Jan is survived by his children, Sarah (Paul) Kubon, Rebecca Buelo and Joshua (Tina) Buelo; mother, Elayne Buelo; siblings, Kip (Lynne) Buelo, Yvonne (Jeff) Lau and Bret (Patti) Buelo; along with several nieces and nephews.
Jan was preceded in death by his father, Ralph H. Buelo.
Funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Peace Lutheran Church, 750 E. Markland Ave., with Pastor Joshua Bishop officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, and from 10 a.m. until service time at the church on Saturday.
