James Lee Kendall

August 21, 1947 - June 09, 2018

James L. Kendall, 70, Kokomo, went home to be with his one true love, Linda, at 6:47 a.m. Saturday, June, 9, 2018, at St. Vincent Kokomo. He was born in August 1947 in Wawpecong, Indiana, to Woodrow and Wilma (Love) Kendall. On Nov. 4, 1972, in Kokomo, he married his soulmate, Linda L. Hannah, who preceded him in death on April 20, 2016.
He graduated from Kokomo High School in 1965. He retired from Chrysler in 2007, after 31 years of service, and he was a maintenance supervisor. He was a member of Fraternal Order of the Eagles for 44 years, lifetime member of the Grissom Air Museum, Indiana Sheriffs Association, Harley Owners group, and a member of several other associations. His list of accomplishments was expansive. He loved to travel with his wife to England, Las Vegas, and many other destinations. He was an avid motorcycle rider, builder, tinkerer, and a gardener.
James thought the world of his family and friends. He was a straight shooter and would drop everything to help them. He was also very proud of his family and bragged quite often. He often spoke of the guys who worked for him, and said they "were the best crew of guys anyone could ever ask for."
Survivors include his sons, Milan "Ty" Kendall and wife Naomi, of Kokomo, Mark and wife Ann Kendall, and Steve Kendall; best friend, Charlyn "Charlie" Ying, of Kokomo; daughters, Christina "Chris" Lawson, and husband Kris of Moore, Oklahoma, and Stephanie Garner; two brothers, Larry Kendall and wife Debbie and Ray Kendall; two sisters, Pam Graves and Sandy Dean and husband Terry; five grandchildren, Nikki Caine, Kelsie Stollar and husband Matthew, Cortney Garten, Tyler Bergen, and Amber Kendall-Kill; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Wanda (Kendall) Gaskins; and wife Linda L. Kendall.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Ellers Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
