James "Jim" A. Graves, 74, Kokomo, died in his home at 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017. He was born in Marion to the late Russell and Hazel (Key) Graves. On Nov. 28, 1992, Jim married Brenda Spurgeon, and she survives.
Jim graduated from Swayzee High School in 1961. He worked at General Motors for 31 years, where he was a journeyman painter He loved to ride his Harley-Davidson and was a member of HOG Group. Jim also liked NASCAR and the Pacers, and he loved to keep a nice-looking yard.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Brenda; daughters, Tuesday Grammer and Angie (Clinton) Paul, both from Kokomo; step-children, Tracey Novinger, Shan Cox and Sean Cox, all from Kokomo; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his special dog, Toby.
Family and friends may call from 12 to 2 p.m. with Jim's funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Rybolt Chapel, 314 N. Washington St., Swayzee, IN. Pastor Verl Hochstedler will be officiating with burial following at Thrailkill Cemetery in Swayzee.
