Harry E. Knauff Jr., 78, Denver, Indiana, passed away Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, at his daughter's residence in Wabash County. Born Jan. 5, 1939, in Perrysburg, he was the son of Harry E. Knauff Sr. and Audrey Viola Grandstaff Knauff. On Feb. 16, 1958, he was married to the former Carolyn Ruth Mongosa, who passed away last Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017.
Mr. Knauff was a member of the former Perrysburg Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge at Macy. He was retired from General Motors Corp. and was a man of many talents, including welding, woodworking, excavation work, fence building, building log homes, and even operating a sawmill. For more than 35 years, Harry, along with his wife Carolyn, had participated in historical re-enactments.
He is survived by six children, Justin and Vanessa Knauff, Denver, Elvin and Velvet Knauff, Denver, Carrie Knauff, Denver, Florence and Howard Tigler, Wabash, Vincent and Jean Knauff, Peru, and Anthony and Carla Knauff, Denver; 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, David L. Knauff and wife Becky, and Dennis L. Knauff and wife Jeannie, all of Perrysburg.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one sister, Norma Jean Beacher.
Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, at Westlawn Cemetery, Denver, Indiana, with Pastor Bill Babb officiating.
