Gladys Lucille's Story

Gladys Lucille "Susie" (Lemons) Clark, 89, Kokomo, passed away at 8:51 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017, at her home. She was born Aug. 25, 1927, in Kokomo, the daughter of the late James and Ruby (Guest) Lemons. On Jan. 18, 1947, in Kokomo, she married Lloyd Eugene Clark, who survives.
Susie was a homemaker who took great pride in caring for family and friends. She was a wonderful cook, enjoyed gambling, bargain shopping, and going out to eat dinner. Susie and Gene met at the roller skating rink, where she was an excellent skater. They both traveled extensively to Utah, Las Vegas, Nevada, Tunica, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia.
Susie is survived by her husband of 70 years, Lloyd Eugene Clark, Kokomo; sons, John C. (Jodi) Clark, Russiaville, David A. Clark (Doug Pardieck), Kokomo; daughter-in-law, Velma J. Clark, Galveston; grandchildren, Bruce Clark, Kokomo, Bradley Clark, Kokomo, Billy (Stacey) Clark, Galveston, Ryan (Jen) Clark, Fishers, Amber (Pierce) Overton, Kokomo, and Andrew Clark, Kokomo; great-grandchildren, Kilye Clark, McCayla Clark, Cory Clark, Colbie Clark, Curtis Clark, Vance Clark, Kelsey Clark, Blake Clark, Hailey Clark, Jace Clark, and Mia Overton; brothers, Joe (Betty) Lemons, Georgia, and Kenny (Pam) Lemons, Walton; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Susie was preceded in death by her parents; son, Lloyd E. Clark Jr.; daughter, Pamela K. Vines; brothers, Bob Lemons, Jack Lemons, James Lemons, and Richard Lemons; and sister, Betty Sue Lemons.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, 2017, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Steve Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
