Gerald "Jerry" Gordon, 82, of Kokomo, passed away Nov. 9, 2017. He was born May 8, 1935, in Logansport, to William Russell Gordon and Nillie B. (Beeler) Gordon.
Jerry attended Washington grade school and Riley school. He volunteered for the army and served in Germany from 1954 to 1956. Upon his return to the states in 1956, he married Jean Ann Johnson. He was a stepfather to her children, Carol Gusman, John Johnson, Gary Johnson, Jake Johnson, Ernest Johnson and Steve Johnson; and several step-grandchildren. They were together until her passing in 1978.
Jerry also began a career at Chrysler Corporation in 1956, retiring after 30 and 1/2 years of service with them.
He was also a member of UAW 685 for 61 years.
On April 5, 1985, he married Cornellia (Holloway) Arnett, who survives, along with his stepdaughters, Lucy (Ed) Bishop and Cathy (Thomas) Boyle; seven grandchildren and their spouses; and 23 great-grandchildren. His stepson Tilford Arnett, Jr. preceded him in death.
Jerry is also survived by his twin sister, Geraldine (Charles) Rush of Kokomo; brothers, Russell (Betty) Gordon of Logansport and Emory (Nancy) Gordon of Logansport; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and first wife, Jerry was preceded in death by his sisters, Velma Jean Hardy and Irene McDonald; and brother, Carl William Gordon.
After retirement, Jerry kept busy helping his wife repairing and managing rental properties and their farm. He enjoyed traveling and watching old movies.
Family will receive friends at Sunset Memory Garden, 2097 W. Alto Road, Kokomo, IN 46902 Tuesday, Nov. 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with services to follow. Reverend Patrick Allen Boyle, from Port Washington, Ohio, will be officiating the services of the life of Grandpa Gordon. Jerry was a loving husband and a good stepfather, grandfather and great-grandfather.
