George W. Corbin Sr., 86, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017. Born in Parma, Missouri, he was the son of Charley and Zuler (Washington) Corbin.
He was a member of Grace Memorial Church of God in Christ. He retired from Chrysler, where he worked as a forklift driver after 33 years of service. He was the founder and owner of Corbin's Antiques, a business that displayed antiques and collectibles in local and national antique shows. He was nationally and locally known for his working with Heisey Glass Antiques and Kokomo Plate Glass Pieces and was known as the "Heisey Man from Hoosier Land."
He met and married the love of his life, Odelia Lyle Corbin, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by sons, George Walter Corbin Jr., Phoenix, Arizona, and Bernard Lee Corbin, Kokomo; daughter, Ella Mae (Thomas) Corbin-Hamilton, Indianapolis; sister, Lessie Mae Corbin Beans, Parma, Missouri; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 19, at Refreshing Spring Church of God in Christ, with calling from 9 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in Kokomo Memorial Park.
