I had Mr. Hawkins for wood shop, metal shop and as a football and wrestling coach while at Lewis Cass. Not only did I learn from his teaching in these areas but he taught me to never quit or give up. You hang in there until you simply can go no more to accomplish a task or learn a skill. He was a great teacher and coach. My deepest condolences to his family.

Todd - very sorry to hear of this great loss for you and your family. I remember speaking with your dad at Family Weekends back in the GMI days. A fine gentleman of course but I could definitely sense the lineage to your zest for enjoying life!

So sorry Fred has left us but his memories will linger forever. He was a good husband, good father as well as good grandpa. He always had a smile on his face and a good word for everyone. I am so glad we had time to chat at the 58’s Reunion, will miss your smiling face.
