Eric Charles Floyd, 50, Russiaville, was called home to Heaven at 11:04 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo. He was born Sept. 30, 1966, in Kirksville, Missouri, the son of Charles Eugene & Darlene Berniece (Walker) Floyd. On July 4, 1990, in Brashear, Missouri, he married Rhonda L. Baxter, who survives.
Eric was a 1985 graduate of Adair County R-II School in Brashear, Missouri, and had attended Wichita State University. Eric was a hard worker. He owned and operated NCI Company, carpentry and general contracting. He was a skilled, detail craftsman, specializing in bathrooms and kitchens. His talents could be seen in his finish carpentry and woodwork. Eric enjoyed flipping houses when time allowed.
He was a member of Fuel Church, and the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, Local 615. Eric loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He put the same intensity into his family and relationships as he did his work. He enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. Some of Eric's most endearing qualities were that he was a people person, who never met a stranger and he had an enormous gift of gab.
Eric is survived by his wife, Rhonda Floyd, Kokomo; children, Rachel (Wes) Lytle, Kokomo, Tad (Rebecca) Floyd, Kentucky, and Jonathan Floyd (Alaynah Weisend), Kokomo; grandchildren, Faith Lytle, Reece Floyd, Jaxson Floyd, and Karston Black; siblings, Rayna (George) Ihnat, Brashear, Missouri, Lisa (John) Wilson, Des Moines, Iowa, and Teresa Creason, Brashear, Missouri, along with several nieces and nephews and his four legged companions Baxter, Fenway, and Gunner.
Eric was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Valleri (Larry) Norfolk.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2017, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Rick Burgei officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
