Elmer R. "Rick" Kann, 67, Kokomo, went to be with the Lord at 9:20 a.m. Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, from the comfort of his home. Rick was born Aug. 23, 1950, in Fairmount, West Virginia, to Elmer and Edith Kann. He married Lisa Kann (Bowley) on June 7, 2007, in Kokomo.
Rick retired from The City of Kokomo after 20 years of service. He loved animals and gave many a loving home. He also loved his gun collection.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother; two sisters, Melissa Miller and Valerie Kann; and brother-in-law, Dusty Miller.
Surviving are his spouse, Lisa Kann; his son, Rick Jr. and Joetta Kann; his stepdaughters, Cassidy and Shana Bowley; grandchildren Tayla, Dyamond, and Kyland; and a great-grandchild, Alaric. Also surviving are his siblings, Mo Morgan, Shirley Miller, Barbara Rowe, Kimberly and Bill Thompson, and several nieces and nephews.
Rick donated his body to science at Indiana University School of Medicine. A celebration of life will be held at a later date for family and close friends.
