Elizabeth L. Davis


Elizabeth Laurie (McAbee) Davis, 99, of Kokomo passed away at 3:13 a.m. Saturday September 15, 2018 at Kokomo Place, Kokomo. Born September 12, 1919 in Knoxville, TN, she was the daughter of the late Grady McAbee and Fannie Mae (Mathes) McAbee. In April 1935 in Maynardsville, TN, she married Willard Davis. He preceded her in death on May 3, 2002. She was employed with M&G Drive-in for seven years; then worked for Delco Electronics for eight years. She was a member of First Landmark Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading and spending time with her family.
Elizabeth is survived by four sons James C. Davis of Kokomo, Wayne (Edda) Davis of Fredericksburg, VA, Eddie Davis of Savannah, GA, Richard (Susie) Davis of Inverness, FL There are also 19 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 27 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sons Billy Davis, Bobby C. Davis, and David Davis; twin daughters at birth, two brothers and two sisters; also three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday September 19, 2018 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo, with funeral services beginning at 5:00 PM. Pastor Robert Morphew will officiate. Private graveside services will take place on Thursday at Kokomo Memorial Park.
