Edward "Ed" Carpenter, 81, Kokomo, passed away Friday, Sept. 15, 2017. He was born April 16, 1936, to Lester and Elsie (Mattox) Carpenter.
Ed married his wife, Marty (Harmon) on Oct. 30, 1954. He worked as a toolmaker at Delco Electronics and retired from there as a general supervisor after 27 years. He was also a proud member of the Galveston Masonic Lodge and Murat Shrine Club. Ed loved spending time with his family, fishing, golf and, especially, watching softball. He spent most summer days watching games at Northwest Park.
Ed is survived by his wife, Marty; sisters, Debbie Willis and Donna (Ray) Shields; brothers, Bill (Rosie) and Tom; sister-in-law, Billie Sue; daughters, Sheila Brock and Sandy (Randy) Tinsley; son, Cliff (Jayne) Carpenter; grandchildren, Angie Padilla and fiancé Brent Hensley, Wes (Laura) Brock, Jill Johnson, Melanie Kelly; great-grandchildren, Tristen, Lani, McKenzie and Izzy; special Aunt Marie; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his brothers, Jim and Lester; and his sister, Shannon.
There will be no public visitation only a private family service officiated by dear friend and cousin, Logan Sparling.
