Donna M. Morris, 64, Russiaville, passed away at 6:27 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019, at Indiana University Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. She was born March 31, 1954, in Stuttgart, Germany, the daughter of John L. and Ruth (Thrasher) Phillips. On Dec. 28, 1974, she married Marlin R. Morris, and he survives.
Donna graduated from Northwest High School in Indianapolis. She earned her registered nursing degree from St. Elizabeth Nursing School in Lafayette. She later earned a bachelor of science in nursing from Indiana University at Kokomo. Her nursing career at Howard Community Hospital and the Howard County Health Department spanned nearly 40 years. She was a member of Forest United Methodist Church.
Donna spent her life serving and caring for others. Her passions were nursing and her family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her six grandchildren, whether it be reading books, playing games, or watching them compete on athletic fields.
Along with her husband, Marlin, Donna is survived by her parents, John and Ruth Phillips; sons, David (Richelle) Morris, and Matthew (Ashley) Morris; grandchildren, Mason, Dylan, Parker, Colt, Katryn, and Emery Morris; siblings, John Jr. (Beth) Phillips, Craig (Lisa) Phillips, Renate (Doug) Hayes, and Regina (Lester) Dalton, along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2019, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, with the Rev. John Young officiating. Burial will follow in Russiaville Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
