Donald Graf, 94, Greentown, passed away at 8:18 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Century Villa Healthcare, Greentown. He was born March 23, 1923, in Converse, to Omen "Pete" and Mildred (Miller) Graf. He married Freda E. (Ellis) on March 2, 1946, and she preceded him in death Jan. 22, 1999.
He served in the United States Army. After serving in the Army, he went to work at Fisher Body in Marion, retiring after 30 years of service. He then went on to work for Brad Howell Ford in Greentown for 25 years and was also a farmer. He graduated from Union Township School in 1940.
He was a member of the Jerome Christian Church and American Legion Post 317.
Survivors include his daughters, Rita (Dewey) Childers, Bunker Hill, and Janice (Steve) Fine, Greentown; son, Jeff (Carol) Graf, Greentown; brother, Bernard (Mary Jo) Graf; sister, Miriam (John) Honeas, Greentown; grandchildren, Laurie (Steve) Allen, Jennifer (Gary) Davis, Angela (Brian) Jakes, Trishia (Tim) Pula, Brian (Sara) Fine, Trent (Lori) Fine, Brent (Cassie) Fine, D.J. (Jamie) Graf, Jamie Harney and Ryan (Jessica) Graf; great-grandchildren, Blake (Stephanie) Allen, Kelsey (Cody) Brooks, Dean Bass, Brandon (Haylee) Bass, Bradley Jakes, Shad Jakes, Jeremy Jakes, Molly Jakes, Payton FIne, Brody Fine, Nicklas Fine, Hunter Fine, Emma Fine, Drew Fine, Jackson Graf, Bridget Graf, Kylar Harney, Xandar Harney, Parker Harney and Rylynn Graf; three great-great-grandchildren, Braxton, Evelyn and Avia; one stepgreat-great-grandchild, Emmi; and special friend, Dorthea Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Bob Graf, Jack Graf, Omen Graf Jr.; and sister, Wanda J. Graf.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Jerome Christian Church, 9535 E. 100 South, Greentown, with Pastor David Stokes and Elder Dick Mosier officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Greentown, following the service, with military rites provided by the American Legion Post 317. Visitation for family and friends will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Jerome Christian Church, 9535 E. 100 South, Greentown.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Jerome Christian Church preschool scholarship program. Arrangements are being handled by Hasler-Stout Funeral Home, Greentown. Online condolences may be made at www.hasler-stout.com.
