Dillard C.'s Story
Dillard C. "Butch" Fairchild Jr. 73, Greentown, passed away at 9:21 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017, in his home. He was born Jan. 18, 1944 in Brunswick, New Jersey, to Dillard C. and Ida (Browkaw) Fairchild.
He had worked for Chrysler Corp., retiring in 2007 after 30 years of service. He was a member of Local 685.
Butch was a part of the Road King's car club. Butch had a bigger-than-life personality and enjoyed driving and racing his street rods. He was a self-proclaimed hot-rodder. Butch valued and loved the many relationships he had come to embrace through hot-rodding and car clubs.
Surviving are his life partner, Gail Parka, Greentown; two sisters, Shelia (Tom) Fairchild Preston and Sharon Fairchild; and many special car club friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Keeping with Butch's wishes, a celebration of life memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at Greentown Wesleyan Church, 120 N. Maple St., Greentown, followed by a time to reminisce, also at the church. Pastor Eric Roemer will officiate.
