Dianne Ellen King, 69, Kokomo, passed away at 3:45 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, at her home. She was born Oct. 31, 1948, to Lewis Hite and Esther (Chapman) Hite. Dianne married Jerald Leroy Jan. 16, 1968, and he survives her.
Dianne loved cooking and baking for her family and friends. She made the best homemade bread and pies. She enjoyed shopping, and was a glass collector. Most of her cabinets were full of the glasswork she collected over the years. Dianne was an amazing mother and grandmother. She was the best "Nan" ever. She will be missed dearly.
Dianne is survived by her husband Jerry; daughters, Debbie Parks (Bobby), Kelly King (Mick), and Lisa Cooper (Trevor); son, Larry King (Georgianna); sisters, Susanne Slaughter and Kathy Hite; grandchildren, Cody, Brittney, Devin, Caleb, Gage, Jeremy, and Amber; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Larry, Aleighia, Addi, MaKeena and JJ.
She was preceded in death by niece Lori Slaughter, whom Dianne thought of as one of her own.
Services for Dianne will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, at Ellers Mortuary, Main Street Chapel. The family will offer visiting hours prior from 1 to 3 p.m. If you would like to make a contribution in Dianne's honor, please make payable to The Salvation Army.
