Darlene M. Turnpaugh, 65, Fishers, formerly of Walton, passed away at 2:39 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017, at her residence. She was born in Jonesport, Maine, on Aug. 16, 1952, the daughter of Ralph L. and Beverly Hodgkins Joy. Her mother survives, residing in Fishers. On Jan. 4, 1997, Darlene was married to David Turnpaugh, who survives.
Darlene was a 1970 graduate of North Middlesex High School, Townsend, Massachusetts. She attended cosmetology school after high school. In Logansport, she had been employed as a realtor at Terra Realty and later at Galloway, Murray and Scheetz. Darlene had also been employed at Plotner's Shoe Tree and she owned Sentiments Cards and Gifts.
Darlene enjoyed being involved in her church, Walton Christian. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Rocco Valadez, Fishers; and three grandchildren, Lily, Gabe and Rafe Valadez.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Walton Christian Church, with Pastor Bill Collins officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Kroeger Funeral Home, Logansport, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Interment will be in Walton I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
