Daniel David McCain, 54, passed away at 3:30 p.m. Sunday Sept. 3, 2017, at his home. He was born Dec. 21, 1962, in Lafayette, the son of James David McCain and Joan Ann (Bourff) Knowlan.
David was a 1982 graduate of Kokomo High School. He was a retired electrician and owned and operated Dave's Bait Barn for eight years. He enjoyed fishing, playing euchre and poker, camping, skydiving, and boating.
David is survived by his mother, Joan Knowlan; father, Jim McCain; siblings, Rebecca (Tony) Vent, Micah (Jennifer) McCain, and Jason (Danielle) Augustine; children, Joshua "JD" (Mandy) McCain, Kira (Andy) Richard, and Brandi (Scott) Plough; grandchildren, Alexis Richard and Laila Richard; nieces, Katie Vent, Molly McCain, and Emily Szubielski; special best friend, Susie McCain; and stepchildren, Nate Davis, and Adam Cardwell.
David was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Reid and Hope McCain; maternal grandparents, Arthur and Mary Bourff; and sister, Kathy McCain.
Funeral services for David will be at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Rev. the Eric Catron officiating.
