Clifford B. Williams, 89, Walton, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loving family, early Wednesday morning at St. Vincent Kokomo. He was born May 23, 1928, in Blackwater, Virginia, to Jessie W. and Ethel B. (Satterfield) Williams. He married Edna Alice Proffit in Kokomo Dec. 13, 1962. She preceded him in death Feb. 5, 2001.
Clifford retired from the Kokomo Spring Co. Jan. 3, 1991, with over 35 years of service. He attended Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church in Kokomo and enjoyed clocks, tractors, cars and farming.
He is survived by his son, Robert and wife Bobbie Williams, Peru, Indiana; and his grandchildren, DeDe (Jamie) Hornberger, Michigantown, Indiana; Angela (Mike) Pruitt, Bargersville, Indiana; and Kristen (Traner) Tyra, Sharpsville, Indiana. He is also survived by his five great-grandchildren, Kayla, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Morgan and Hailey, and one great-great-grandson, Oliver, and a sister, Retha Eldridge, Talbot, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Edna; son, Danny; two sisters; and four brothers.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 31, at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston, with his son, the Rev. Robert Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Galveston Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
