Charles "Bodie" Tygart, 60, Kokomo, passed away at 11:45 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2017, at his residence. He was born Nov. 4, 1956, in Kokomo, to the late Charles Tygart and Betty "Pat" Caroline (Richardson) Tygart. He married Debi (Schaefer) Tygart in October 1991 in Kokomo.
Bodie retired from Haynes International in 2014. He enjoyed attending flea markets and tinkering with old antique engines. Bodie was known as a "Collector of People"; he never knew a stranger. He was a member of the Howard County Vietnam Veterans and member of ABATE of Indiana.
Surviving is his loving wife of 25 years, Debi; son, Andy Tygart; siblings, Mike Tygart, Twana Tygart, Jack (Jennifer) Tygart and Jake Tygart; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death are his parents and brothers, Herbert "Dusty" Tygart and Robert "Butch" Tygart.
Funeral service will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 30, 2017, at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St., with the Rev. Will Mills officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 29, also at the mortuary.
