Forty years ago I was introduced to father of my dearest friend. How little did I know at the young age of 20 that this man would instantly garner my admiration and continue to inspire my thoughts and values for the next four decades of my adult life. He was truly a part of author Tom Brokaw’s “The Greatest Generation”, an extra father figure, and my own personal Cold War Hero.

Salute, Col. Chuck! You are loved and will always be missed.
