Catherine Roy, 99, left her earthly home Thursday, June 1, 2017, in North Woods Village, Kokomo, Indiana. She was born Nov. 8, 1917, to John H. and Eduarda G. (Keith) Baltuff in McCarthy, Alaska. She had been living with her son, James, since November 2011 after breaking her hip in a fall.
On Sept. 18, 1937, in Pierce County, Washington, she married Lester J. Whitworth and they later divorced. Lester died July 20, 1987. She married Raoul Marcelin Roy Sept. 8, 1975, in Galveston, Texas. Roaul died May 25, 1990.
In the 1950s, she lived in Peru, Indiana, where she owned and operated a dress shop called Kate's Squaw Shop. After moving to Texas in the late 1950s, she worked at the College of the Mainland in the ceramics department for several years.
Catherine was very artistic. Among some of the things she loved to do was paint, create cards, and make pottery. She had her own kiln.
