Burnice Brooks Hannah


Burnice Brooks Hannah, 86, Port Orange, Florida, formerly of Greentown, passed away at 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2019, in Advent Health Hospice Care, Daytona, Florida. He was born to Charles E. and Rosa (Brooks) Hannah on July 31, 1933, in Searcy, Arkansas. He married Gladys E. (Pitner) Hannah in Kokomo, Indiana, on Nov. 7, 1953, and she survives.
He served in the United States Army from 1953 until 1955.
He had been employed at Turner Powell, Hoosier Iron Works, Seven-Up Bottling Co., Kokomo Sanitary Pottery, Accurate Parts and retired after 25.5 years from Delco.
He was a member of Victory Church of God, Kokomo, and Port Orange Christian Church, Florida. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, bowling and spending time with family.
He is survived by wife, Gladys Hannah; children, Teresa (David) Renbarger, Kevin (Robin) Hannah and Charles (Dawn) Hannah; 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Tammy Palmer, five brothers and four sisters.
Visitation for family and friends will be 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Saturday at Victory Church of God, 2216 E. 100 North, Kokomo, with Pastor Herman Gorham officiating. Burial will follow the service in Greenlawn Cemetery, Greentown, with military honors provided by American Legion Post 317.
