Beulah "Bea"'s Story
Beulah "Bea" M. Dutchess, 86, of Galveston, passed away at her home Sunday evening, Jan. 14, 2018, with her family near her side. She was born June 3, 1931, in Cass County to Kenneth and Dorothy (Morgan) Osborn. She married Creg Dutchess on Feb. 23, 1985, in Kokomo. He preceded her in death Feb. 19, 2015.
Bea retired from nursing in 1990 with several years' service. She enjoyed her dachshunds, flowers and the hummingbirds they brought to her yard. She also enjoyed trips to the casino riverboats with her husband, Creg, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving family include her children, Andy Bookmiller, Dan (Deb) Bookmiller, Debbie (Rob) Gottschall and Patti (Wayne) Harris; her grandchildren, Zach (Tina) Bookmiller, Zeb (Jolene) Bookmiller, Tammy (James) Foust, Terry (Amanda) Alexander, Dawn (Jeb) Templeton, Scott (Rachel) Harris and Samantha Gottschall. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren; a special great-grandson, Jason Alexander; her sisters, Edna Birnell, Logansport, and Marge Hilton, Walton; and sister-in-law, Diana Osborn, Walton. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Creg; three brothers; and one daughter, Ellen Darlene.
A celebration of Bea's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19, at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with Pastor Dennis Riggs officiating. Burial will follow at Galveston Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the Walton American Legion Post 418, Walton, Indiana.
