Betty J. Wellinger, 83, Tipton, passed away Monday, Aug. 28, 2017 at Autumnwood Village, Tipton. She was born in Mattoon, Illinois, on July 6, 1934 to Eugene and Ethelle (Evans) Rudolph. On June 14, 1953, Betty married Thomas Wellinger in a ceremony in Kokomo.
Betty was a 1953 graduate of Kokomo High School and years ago had worked at the Howard County License Branch (BMV). She was a member of Normanda Christian Church, the Quilting Club, and was past secretary of the Pioneer Auto Club, Kokomo. Betty enjoyed doing genealogy, sewing, cross-stitching and crocheting.
Survivors include her two children, Ronald and wife Deb Wellinger, and Connie and husband Charles Shupperd; her grandchildren, Cara (Adrian) Roach, Carissa Shupperd, Cayla Shupperd, Jamie (Chris) Niccum, Christy Hall, and Trent Biddle; and great-grandchildren, Driden Niccum, Emma Williams, Ellie Hall, Kyla Hall, Emma Biddle, Jack Roach and Lucy Roach.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tom; a granddaughter, Britini Biddle; and a brother, Robert Rudolph.
Funeral services were Friday at Porter Funeral Home, 726 E. North St., Tipton, with Pastor Steve Brown officiating. Entombment followed in Kokomo's Sunset Memory Garden.
