Betty's Story

Betty Louise Mygrant, 87, Kokomo, went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018, at Golden Living Sycamore Village. She was born June 21, 1930, in New Bedford, Massachusetts, to David and Lillian Jones. On Dec. 7, 1961, she married Ronald Mygrant in Amboy, and he survives.
Betty was a pattern and doll maker for many years. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Kokomo, where she served as Sunday school teacher and worked in the nursery.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Beryl (Larry) Kendall, Greentown, Bonnie Erlbeck, Kokomo, Trudy Erlbeck, Kokomo, and Rhonda Mygrant and her caregiver, Pam Bartley, Crawfordsville; daughter-in-law, Dianne Erlbeck, Peru; grandchildren, Ralph Wilson, Christian Wilson, Kimberly and Brian Alan Miller, Thomas Michael Johnston II, Lucinda Rothrauff, Gabriel Ellis, Joshua (Tori) Campbell, James Lucas Campbell and Sarah Campbell; stepgrandchildren, Tim (Jodi) Kendall and Jason (Heather) Kendall; great-grandchildren, Sydney Miller, Payton Miller, Tory Johnston, Sawyer Johnston, Oliver Johnston, Quirsten and Thomas Gene Yeary, Mallory Rothrauff, Lucie Rothrauff, Bianca Flamino, Tyleigh McWhirt, Breanne Ellis, Jerry Phipps, Haley Tinder, ShyAnn Tomlinson, Kaiden Thompson, Aryan Ellis, Gabriella Ellis, Jace Miller, Kyersten (Dakota) Warrick, Kelsi Campbell, Lillian Campbell, Kylan Campbell, Aryanne Campbell, Zayne Campbell, Valic Campbell and Severin Campbell; stepgreat-grandchildren, Ashleigh Kendall, Cody Anthony, Liam Kendall, Lily Kendall, Trevor Kendall, Julian Harmon, Allana Gentner, Alea Gentner and Makala Harmon; eight great-great-grandchildren; five nieces; one nephew; and three cousins. Betty is the first of five generations with daughter, Bonnie; granddaughter, Lucinda; great-granddaughter, Quirsten; and great-great-grandson, Michael Gonzales II.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Lucas Erlbeck; sister, Shirley Letendre; brother, David Jones; first husband, Lucas Erlbeck; and stepfather, Charles Archibald.
The family wants to thank the staff at Golden Living Sycamore Village and Great Lakes Hospice for their care and love for Betty.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, at Bible Baptist Church, 2635 S. Dixon Road, with Pastors Keith Treadway and Dan Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.
