Betty G. Howard, 87, Russiaville, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Wellbrooke of Kokomo. She was born Oct. 14, 1929 in Laurel, Mississippi to Oliver and Rosalee (Irving) Mizelle. On March 21, 1948 Betty married Marion A. Howard and he passed away on May 29, 2009.
Betty worked for 30 years at Delco Electronics and was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, former member of Indian Heights Baptist Church. She loved being with her family, playing cards, fishing, golfing and the joy of her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Kay (Mark Davis) Bontrager, Kokomo, Greg (Laura) Howard, Tucson, Arizona, Mark (Debby) Howard of Jupiter, Florida, and David (Sandi) Howard, Clover, South Carolina; grandchildren, Ashleigh Day, Kallie Harris, Robert Howard (Megan Strand), Kyle (Michelle) Howard, Michael Howard, Taylor Maggard, Allison Howard, Grace Howard, Emma Howard and Kamran Howard; great grandchildren, Keegan Day, Easton Bontrager, Jaiden Harris, Ella Harris, Kade Howard and Levi Howard.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Rosa Mizelle; husband, Marion A. Howard; sisters, Doris Ruffin, Olive Holifield, Helen Luckey, Wilma Mae Mizelle; and brothers, Joe Mizelle and Champ Mizelle.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at First Church of the Nazarene, 2734 S. Washington St., with Pastor David Leeder officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church.
