Annie Mae Young, 85, passed away Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018. Born in Parma, Missouri, Annie was the daughter of Simmie and Mary Chatman Cannon.
She was employed by Delco Electronics as an assembler until she retired in 1996 after 26 years of faithful service. Other employment included Cook County Hospital in Chicago, McIntosh Laundry and Howard Community Hospital, where she worked on the surgical ward.
Annie Mae was also a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church. She had many loves in life, including crocheting, knitting, playing bingo, reading, and completing puzzle books.
Annie is survived by her four sons, Leroy W., Carl L. Sr., Jerome C. and Martiqco L. Young; five daughters, Mary(David) Kiser, Shirley King (Jerry Copeland), Martha A. (Cecil) Small, Glenda and Martinea Young; 30 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leroy W. Young Sr.; daughter, Michelle R. Young; son, Anthony L. Young; grandsons, Kenneth Fowler, Trinton Hile and Leroy W. Young III.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, at Second Missionary Baptist Church, with calling from 11 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Bluitt and Son Funeral Home (firstname.lastname@example.org).
