Andrea Campbell Thompson, 37, Kokomo, passed away at her home Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017, after an extended illness. Andrea was born in Kokomo in 1980.
A bookhound, movie buff and film critic from a young age, she was well-versed in literature and could always be counted on for a humorous and often sarcastic quote for any situation. A lifelong fan of The Muppets and "Star Wars," her enthusiasm led her to meet several of the actors and creators over the years as she enjoyed collecting memorabilia and autographs. She had a passion for food and loved trying new recipes and cooking for family and friends, never shying away from exploring new techniques or flavor profiles. She graduated with a practical nursing degree from Ivy Tech Community College and worked as a pediatric nurse whose bright personality could instill confidence in the most timid of little patients, a strength always present as she bravely faced her own challenges.
She is loved and remembered by her mother, Lucinda Campbell; sisters, Amy Healton and Amanda Campbell; niece and nephew, Georgia and Campbell Healton; and grandmother, Catherine Steiner.
She was preceded in death by her father, George F. Campbell Jr.
A private family memorial service will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kokomo Humane Society. Online condolences may be made at www.hasler-stout.com, Hasler-Stout Funeral Home, Greentown, is assisting the family with arrangements.
