Alice Ann Szabo LaCluyse

Alice Ann Szabo LaCluyse passed away July 9, 2019, at Community Heart and Vascular Hospital in Indianapolis.
Alice was born on Aug. 25, 1934, in South Bend, Indiana. She graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1952. She married her lovely husband, Donald LaCluyse, on June 1, 1957, in St. Stephen Catholic Church in South Bend. They met on a blind date arranged by Donald's mother when they were juniors in high school.
They have four children, Denise (Rick) Gunning, Debbie (Bryan) Ashburn, Doug (Lynn) LaCluyse and D.J. (Michelle) LaCluyse. Also surviving is a brother, Alex Szabo Jr., South Bend.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Orlowski; mother, Helen Smith; father, Alex Szabo; stepfather, Cecil Smith. Alice loved her family, including 12 grandchildren. Her lake kids were very special to her and loved.
Don and Alice resided in Kokomo for 28 years. Alice retired from Haynes International and then resided at Nyona Lake. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, with the Knights of Columbus and contributed to many successful events at the K of C.
Alice enjoyed gardening, sitting on the front porch, bird watching, drinking Miller Lite, playing lottery tickets, and gambling. She will be very missed by all.
A celebration of life will be 2 to 7 p.m. Aug. 3 at the Knights of Columbus, 1631 Foxfire Lane, Kokomo.
