Agnes S. Stockdale, 82, Naples, Florida, and formerly of Kokomo, passed away at 10:50 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017, at Avow Hospice in Naples. She was born Sept. 11, 1934, in Salvisa, Kentucky, to John and Edna (Huffman) Shuck. On March 18, 1955, she married Glen G. Stockdale, and he preceded her in death on July 6, 1998.
Agnes was a graduate of Kokomo High School. She worked for Delco Electronics for 10 years before retiring. She was very involved with church and mission work and was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Kokomo. She enjoyed teaching water aerobics at the Y and volunteering at the Kokomo Rescue Mission. She was named Senior Volunteer of the Year for the United Way in 2006.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra A. Stockdale, Naples, Florida, and Brenda S. (Gregory) Zate, Memphis, Tennessee; grandchildren, Leslie (Roger) Jack, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Ryan (Hollie) Zate, Cleveland, Ohio, and Spencer Zate, West Palm Beach, Florida; great-grandson, Tatum Jack; brothers, Razz, Frankie, Bill, Bobbie and Eddie Shuck; and was loved by her many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Tom, Jimmy and Henry Shuck.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Pastor Keith Treadway officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
